Choose the identifier path per product.

Missing identifiers should be fixed at product level. A branded retail product, handmade product, private-label bundle, and custom product can need different handling.

If GTIN exists

Internal SKUs should not be treated as manufacturer part numbers unless they truly are manufacturer part numbers.

identifier_exists is overused

Setting false on products that actually have GTIN or MPN + brand can create a different mismatch.

Do not use identifier_exists=false as a shortcut.

The goal is accurate product identity, not suppressing warnings. Wrong false values can create new data-quality problems.
